Origin, manufacture and background of SECUREMME
SECUREMME is an Italian company dedicated to the design and manufacture of locks, cylinders and security accessories since 1967. It was born as a family company driven by Mario Malighetti and keeps its production in Italy, controlling the design, component manufacture and assembly stages internally.
With almost 60 years of experience, the brand is present in the market for residential, security, metal doors, garages, shutters and safes. Its position rests on a broad offer of mechanical locks, euro-profile cylinders and access protections, with solutions that can be configured for homes, residents' associations, shops and professional projects.
SECUREMME product range
SECUREMME approaches door security from several components. This makes it possible to replace a worn cylinder, install a complete lock or reinforce an entry point with a compatible protector and fittings. The compatibility between parts is important: a lock for a security door does not necessarily use the same cam, cylinder or escutcheon as a conventional door.

For a home door, the result depends on the combination of cylinder, protective escutcheon, lock and condition of the frame. Installing only a higher-level cylinder may not resolve a problem of play, a deteriorated strike plate or a misaligned door.
Security technologies and certifications
The performance varies according to the chosen series. In its EVO security cylinders, SECUREMME incorporates anti-bumping, anti-pick, anti-drill, anti-break and anti-rotor-extraction protection. These measures rest on special pins, hardened steel components and internal mechanisms that increase the difficulty of manipulation or attack.
The EVO K64 TOP Modular combines eleven active pins with a track of four moving elements and can incorporate a reinforcement bar along the modular body. It includes a reversible nickel-silver key, a security card to control copies and a recoding system. In the version tested to UNI EN 1303:2015, it reaches grade 6 for durability and key security, and grade D for attack resistance.
Anti-extraction protection gains effectiveness when the cylinder is well covered by an escutcheon. There are also master-keying, keyed-alike and building-key configurations. A locksmith can identify the right size and cam before carrying out the cylinder change, avoiding incompatibilities with the existing lock.
Models and ranges for different entry points
The EVO family offers different levels of protection. EVO K1 is a basic option for internal doors, storerooms or low-risk entry points that require a euro-profile cylinder. EVO K22 adds a more complex system, with eleven active pins and protection against bumping, breakage and drilling depending on the configuration.
For the front door of a home, a ground-floor unit, a detached house or premises, EVO K64 is the most suitable range within this set when copy control, protection against manipulation and a modular body are sought. The TOP Modular version can be useful on doors of special sizes or when the cylinder needs to be adjusted precisely. On security doors, you must always check compatibility with the lock and consider a quality external protector.
Real advantages and drawbacks
SECUREMME is attractive for owners who want an Italian mechanical security solution with a variety of compatible locks, cylinders and accessories. The modular system makes it easy to adapt some ranges to different sizes, and the security card helps to control the reproduction of keys. The recoding function can also be practical after building work or when changing users.
Like any security system, it requires a proportionate choice. A K64 can be a suitable investment on an exposed door, but excessive for an internal entry point without valuable goods. Protected copies depend on authorised centres and on keeping the card. In addition, a weak door, an unreinforced frame or a non-existent escutcheon can limit the effect of an advanced cylinder; in those cases it is worth considering a complete upgrade.
Installation and maintenance of the cylinder
Installation begins by measuring correctly from the fixing screw to each side of the door. The cylinder should sit as flush as possible with the escutcheon and use the corresponding cam. If it protrudes too far, it is more exposed; if it is short, it can hinder the use of the key and the correct fitting of the protector.
To maintain it, lubricant specific to locks is recommended, not dense household oils. If the key turns with difficulty, the rotor has play, forcing marks are detected or the door has to be pushed to close, it is worth having it checked. After a house move, a loss of keys, a change of tenant or an attempted intrusion, replacing the cylinder makes it possible to regain control of the entry point.
