Who LINCE is and its background
LINCE is a Spanish locksmithing brand born in Elorrio, Vizcaya, in 1932 under the company name La Industrial Cerrajera, S.A. Its first products were rim locks, mortice locks and cylinders. Over the decades, the company expanded its activity towards padlocks, deadbolts, security cylinders and access solutions for homes and businesses.
Its manufacturing is still tied to Spain and it has more than 90 years of experience. LINCE holds an established position in the domestic locksmithing market, with a presence outside Spain as well. It is especially known for offering mechanical security products for different budgets, from a functional cylinder for a conventional door to high-security systems with key-copy control.

The C6 Reforzado, for example, uses a brass body with a steel bar and internal stainless steel components. It is marketed with a reversible multi-point key and has certification to EN 1303:2006, with high declared performance in key security, attack resistance and corrosion. The versions with the W suffix add controlled key copying. The LINCE C7 is geared towards users looking for a higher level, with triple locking and 17 moving elements. For its part, C6 ALARM combines mechanical protection with an integrated alarm of approximately 100 dB, useful as a deterrent against vibrations or attempts at manipulation.

On internal doors, low-risk storerooms or incompatible old locks, it may be more reasonable to opt for a basic cylinder, repair the lock first or consider an overall upgrade.

The size of the cylinder should be matched to the thickness of the door and escutcheon; if it protrudes too far to the outside, exposure to attacks increases. It is also important that the cam is compatible with the lock and that the cylinder turns smoothly, without forcing you to lift or push the door. A security escutcheon correctly fixed reinforces the assembly.
To preserve it, it is worth using lubricant specific to cylinders and avoiding household oils that retain dirt. If the key jams, turns with difficulty, has play, has broken inside the cylinder or the lock requires several attempts, it is time to have it checked.
