Who EVVA is
EVVA is an Austrian family business founded in Vienna in 1919. Its name comes from the German expression Erfindungs-, Versuchs- und Verwertungs-Anstalt, associated with the research, testing and application of new solutions. Installation and maintenance of the cylinder
Before installing an EVVA cylinder you have to measure the door from the central screw towards both sides, taking the escutcheon and rose into account. The cylinder should sit practically flush and not protrude excessively. You must also confirm the type of cam, the cylinder profile and whether a double clutch or an internal thumbturn is of interest.
If the key offers resistance, turns in jumps, the cylinder has play or marks appear around the escutcheon, it is worth inspecting the installation. Use specific lubricants and avoid introducing dense oils that trap dirt. The loss of keys, a change of ownership, a house move or an attempted break-in are situations in which it is prudent to replace the cylinder.
